There’s still time to skate the Banks

May 10th – Update: There’s still time.

Beginning March 31st the contractors will begin to put up fences and protective barriers. There is still time to skate it, get there.

“The contractor will install protective guards around the trees on Wednesday, March 31st, and begin placing a concrete barrier along the perimeter of the shaded section on Friday, April 2nd. Fencing will be installed after the concrete barriers are in place, and setting up this staging area is expected to continue until approximately April 16th. DOT is continuing to work with the communities using this area, to maintain as much access as can be safely accommodated. During a 4-6 month period beginning in mid-2010, the entire area will be closed due to overhead paint work; however, DOT expects to re-instate access after this work is completed.”
