Hi Jennifer, I wanted to personally thank you for the Uptown Skate School lessons for Career Gear’s Capital Per Suit 2010 auction. Our 11th annual event was a true success and brought in much needed funding to support our clients through our retention program, The Professional Development Series. As you know, this programming offers our clients workshops on employment, financial stability, parenting and life balance. If you need anything from me, please let me know, otherwise thanks again for your donation. Sarah

You can request a male or female instructor, This is great for the girls, because most of them learn a bit different than boys and even though we follow the same teaching guidelines, we always cater the lessons to the student. Everyone learns at a different pace. Some people take a week to learn the basics and some longer. Practice is always the key and we highly suggest that parents gets involved and even learn a little about skateboarding themselves. Uptown Skate School has a variety illustrated guides that we provide for both the student and parents.
Hey Jennifer,
I just wanted to say thank you again! I wish I didn’t have to rush off after our lesson. I longboarded my way cross town instead of using the bus and I feel SO much better. Sorry again for being late and that you ended up working on my stubborn trucks. I definitely owe you. I’ll be leaving positive comments all over the place for you guys. Hopefully I’ll see you around and I’m definitely gonna be coming back. Corinne

Thanks again for the lesson. You’re a really good teacher. You’re patient and flexible, and you explain things really well. I’ll definitely recommend you to my friends.

You guys rock. I can’t believe I can skate like this in only a couple of lessons. Thanks!
My wife and I wanted to learn how to skateboard for a while, but at 26 thought it might be too late. We contacted the Uptown Skate School and it was the best decision we could have made. Jen gave us a couple of lessons and now we’re hooked! I guess it’s never too late to learn
Thank you, Joe and David!! The boys raved about our trip last Thursday for the rest of their visit. They couldn’t believe they skated Brooklyn Banks, just like in the pro videos. Tris took them all down to Soho the next day, and they hit every shop. When I saw them at dinner, they were all wearing new shirts (mostly Volcom). I know it’s not cool to say they were very cute, but….
Now, having been there once, I feel comfortable enough to go again with my kids. I doubt I would have gone on our own. This will really expand our options, when Tris says he’s bored with our local park (New Rochelle).
Thank you again –
Barb

To whom it may Concern:
I am a Park Ranger who lives and works in New York City. The city can be overwhelming at times and many people use NYC Parks as a respite from the everyday Hustle and bustle. Many of you who have visited NYC or any big city for that matter, know what I mean. Some of the city residents you see active in and using the parks are skateboarders. New York City has at least 9 public skate parks, these skate parks are operated by the NYC Dept of Parks & Recreation. It would be hard to estimate how many skateboarders you can find in a city this big, although it would be safe to say that the sport is very popular, and you can hardly turn a corner without seeing someone skating. With this said, I believe the city may have too few skate parks. I as a long time skater and someone who would like to support the community I would like to see that change. Unfortunately some of our skate parks are not supervised, and one in particular may be closed. This I feel would be a disservice to the skating community and I would like to work towards keeping this park open. Like almost any other service based company the parks use indicates its need and importance. To ensure and promote the use of the city’s skate parks I will be organizing a skate competition. By using the skate parks and recording the attendance we can help save this park and contribute to the promotion of the sport. Your support in this endeavor will go a long way to ensuring the success of the skate competition. The Park Rangers in NYC are committed to this Idea due to our belief that a health body & mind starts with a healthy environment. If you are interested in participating please contact me for more information about how you or your company can get involved.
P.S. Although I have produced large events in the past, this will be my first skate competition. To make the event as successful as possible I would appreciate any advice or suggestions you may have on this matter.
the nyc parks have some of the best places to skate and generally you dont get yelled at for skating there…lots of people wont go to skate parks because they are located in a bad spot or for example riverside has little kids pumping on the ramps and parents taking pictures of them which is slightly annoying also skaters in new york like street skating better than vert which seems to be a big thing in some of the parks, also bikers tended to dominate the parks to
You should definitely upload the footage from treaty skatepark in St.augustine Fl.
You had filmed The Skate-Station team, and i had a couple tricks, i would love to see a compilation of that day.
awesome vids dudes
